Raspberry Pi interior graphics and signage case study at Cambridge Science Park, bringing a bold branded environment to life across three floors
Three floors of bold graphics that make the space feel like Raspberry Pi
Client:
Raspberry Pi
Job:
Internal graphics and signs
Location:
Cambridge Science Park
Raspberry Pi worked with Motive Graphics to deliver interior graphics and signage across three floors of their new building at Cambridge Science Park, including a halo and face-lit reception sign, bold wallpapers for lab and meeting rooms, frosted and coloured window graphics, and wayfinding throughout. The project was completed in two days and included material recommendations, site survey and full installation management.
A clear starting point
We love it when a client takes us with them when they move roles. In this case, that move was to Raspberry Pi.
When this client was tasked with organising new interior graphics, he got in touch with a simple brief: “Make our office look cool.”
Raspberry Pi wanted a vibrant sign for their compact reception, colourful wall coverings for meeting rooms and lab spaces, and privacy with style for boardrooms and meeting rooms. Clear wayfinding was also required throughout the office.
Balancing impact, space and privacy
Raspberry Pi approached the project with a technical eye, providing clear guidelines and the designs they wanted produced and installed. They already had bright graphics designed and ready to go for their lab and meeting rooms, which we were asked to expand on across the rest of the building and bring to life.
This meant balancing a compact reception space with the need for impact, introducing bold graphics across the building, and managing different levels of privacy in boardrooms and meeting rooms.
This is how we delivered it
Raspberry Pi provided architectural drawings and a comprehensive brief, including material specifications, brand guidelines and clear direction on placement.
For the reception area, the client chose a backlit sign. The original concept featured front-lit black lettering, but we knew this would absorb light and reduce the vibrancy of the sign. We met with the team, talked through the options and shared samples before recommending an alternative solution.
The final design combined halo-lit lettering with a stencil-cut raspberry icon that was both back and face-lit. This increased illumination and added depth, creating a sign that felt vibrant and confident without dominating the space. Having previously created signage for the building’s former tenant, we had a good understanding of what would work well in the compact reception space.
Elsewhere in the building, we used Raspberry Pi’s supplied designs to produce bold wallpapers for lab rooms, meeting rooms and the boardroom, alongside simple, on-brand wayfinding. Several meeting rooms featured window graphics using coloured outline prints drawn from the wallpaper designs.
Different levels of privacy were handled using frosted glass and coloured outline window graphics, with frosted stairwell designs using elements of the wall graphics to keep everything consistent across the space.

“It looked great.”
