CSE Crosscom multi-site signage rollout case study in Derby, maintaining brand consistency across locations
When you’ve already delivered one site, matching it across a second is a much simpler brief
Client:
CSE Crosscom
Job:
External, internal and wayfinding signs
Location:
St Neots & Derby
CSE Crosscom worked with Motive Graphics on a multi-site signage rollout, delivering external and internal signage across their new office and warehouse facilities in Derby to replicate the standard set at their existing St Neots site. The project covered a large-format illuminated external sign with rim return construction, Foamex reception and boardroom signage, rewrapped wayfinding and directional tray signs, and full electrician coordination, completed in two days.
A trusted relationship, a new location
When CSE Crosscom opened new office and warehouse facilities in Derby, they came back to us to manage the signage rollout across their second site. We had already completed their internal and external signage at their St Neots facilities, so they knew what to expect.
The brief was straightforward: match the standard set at St Neots and maintain consistency across both sites.
Same brief, new building
We visited the Derby site to carry out a full survey before any design work began. This gave us a clear picture of the spaces, what was already there and what each area needed.
In the reception and boardroom, CSE Crosscom wanted Foamex signs to match the signage at St Neots. Clean, consistent and on brand.
For the wayfinding and directional signage, the site already had tray signs in good condition. Rather than replacing them, we stripped back the existing vinyl and rewrapped them with CSE Crosscom’s current branding. A practical solution that reduced waste and kept costs down without compromising on the result.
Getting the detail right
The external sign was the most technically involved part of the project. A large-format illuminated sign, 1600mm wide, with stainless steel powder-coated letters and LED lighting.
At that scale, there is a real risk of acrylic panels working loose over time. To prevent this, we specified a rim return construction, where a rim is added around the letters to secure the acrylic and still project the light. The Crosscom name features translucent acrylic with printed vinyl, allowing an even illumination across the lettering.
Because there was no existing electrical provision in the space, we sent a full wiring plan to their electrician ahead of installation, ensuring everything was in place before our fitters arrived on site.
Brand consistency across locations
“It’s always easier to manage a multi-site signage rollout when you’ve been involved from the start. We already had the approved designs and knew exactly how everything should look, so delivering Derby to the same standard as St Neots was straightforward. That’s one of the real advantages of working with the same signage partner across locations.”
